SEMG1 is the predominant protein in semen, as a secretory protein involved in the formation of a gel matrix entrapping the accessory gland secretions and ejaculated spermatozoa. The prostate-specific antigen(PSA) protease processes SEMG1 into smaller peptides, each possibly having a separate function. In the proteslysis process, produced Alpha-inhibin-92 and alpha-inhibin-31, they inhibit the secretion of pituitary follicle-stimulating hormone. At the same time,breaks down the gel matrix, and then the spermatozoa can move more freely.

Novoprotein Recombinant Human Semenogelin-1/SEMG1 produced by mammalian cells expression system.Target protein is expressed with sequence (Gln24-Thr402) of Human semg1 (Uniprot #P04279) fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

·Quality Control

Purity: Greater than 90.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.

·Formulation
  Novoprotein Recombinant Human SEMG1 was lyophilized at 1mg/ml in 20mM PBS.

·Reconstitution
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution of Novoprotein Recombinant Human SEMG1 in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100μg/ml, which can then be further diluted to working solutions.

·Storage
Lyophilized Recombinant Human SEMG1 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Recombinant Human SEMG1 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable up to 3 months below -18°C for future use.
