SPARC-related modular calcium-binding protein 1, also known as secreted modular calcium-binding protein 1 and SMOC1, belongs to the SPARC family. SMOC1 is a secreted protein and widely expressed in many tissues with a strongest signal in ovary. But it is no expression in spleen. SMOC1 contains two EF-hand domains, one Kazal-like domain and two thyroglobulin type-1 domain. Defects in SMOC1 are the cause of ophthalmoacromelic syndrome (OAS). A rare disorder presents with anophthalmia or microphthalmia and limb anomalies. SMOC1 may mediate intercellular signaling and cell type-specific differentiation during gonad and reproductive tract development.

Novoprotein Recombinant Human SMOC-1 produced by mammalian cells expression system.Target protein is expressed with sequence (His27-Vai434) of Human smoc-1 (Uniprot #Q9H4F8) fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

Purity: Greater than 90.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.

·Formulation
  Novoprotein Recombinant Human SMOC1 was lyophilized at 1mg/ml in 20mM PBS.

·Reconstitution
We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution of Novoprotein Recombinant Human SMOC1 in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100μg/ml, which can then be further diluted to working solutions.

·Storage
Lyophilized Recombinant Human SMOC1 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Recombinant Human SMOC1 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable up to 3 months below -18°C for future use.
