Sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin 6 (Siglec-6),also known as CD327, CD33 antigen-like (CD33L) ,CD33L1 and Ob binding protein 1 (OBBP1), is a putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Siglec-6 contains an N-terminal Ig like V type domain, followed by two Ig-like C2 type domains in its extracellular region. Siglec-6 binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. Siglec-6 also contains an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitor motif (ITIM) in its cytoplasmic region which is involved in modulation of cellular responses. Siglec6 is predominantly expressed in placenta and on B-cells.

·Description
Recombinant human Siglec6 produced by transiently transfected human cell is the extracellular domain (Accession # O43669)(Gln27-Val331) of human Siglec6 fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

·Quality Control
Biological activity: Measured by its ability to bind biotinylated Neu5Acα26GalNAcα(sialylTn).
Purity: Greater than 90.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.
Amino-Acid Sequence: Predicted N terminal amino acid is Gln27.
Endotoxin: Less than 0.1ng/μg (1EU/μg) of rHuSiglec6.

·Formulation
Sterile and Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS.

·Reconstitution
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized rHuFGFBP1 in sterile water not less than 100μg/ml.

·Storage
Lyophilized rHu FGFBP1 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution rHuFGFBP1 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and aliquots of reconstituted samples containing 0.1% BSA are stable up to 3 months below -18°C for future use.
