Human CD106, also known as Vascular cell adhesion protein 1 (VCAM1), is a cell adhesion molecule belonging to immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed by cytokine activated endothelial cells. CD106 binds to leukocyte integrins α4β1 (VLA4) and α4β7 and exerts a number of functions including regulation of leukocyte migration, leukocyte endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction and may play a role in the development of atherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.

·Description
Recombinant Human CD106 produced by transiently transfected human cell is the extracellular domain ( Phe25 – Glu698 )( Accession # P19320) of human CD106 fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

·Quality Control
Biological activity: Measured by the ability of the immobilized CD106 to support the adhesion of U937 human histiocytic lymphoma cells. When 5 x 104 cells/well are added to human CD106 coated plates (10 μg/mL with 100 μL/well), approximately 90-100% will adhere after 1 hour incubation at RT.
Purity: Greater than 90.0% as determined by:
(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.
Amino-Acid Sequence: Predicted N terminal amino acid is Phe25.
Endotoxin: Less than 0.1ng/μg (1EU/μg) of rHuCD106.

·Formulation
Sterile and Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS.

·Reconstitution
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized recombinant Human CD106 in sterile water at no less than 100 μg/ml.

·Storage
Lyophilized rHuCD106 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution rHuCD106 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and aliquots of reconstituted samples containing 0.1% BSA are stable up to 3 months below -18°C for future use.
